Members of the Kenya Anti-Corruption Advisory Board together with staff and management of Kenya Anti-Corruption Commission donated a cheque of Ksh1million to Kenya Red Cross (KRCS) in response to the current drought appeal. While presenting a cheque to KRCS, the KACC Chief Officer-Finance and Administration, Mr. Wilson Shollei said the Commission recognised the myriad problems confronting majority of Kenyans and was therefore joining other people of goodwill in contributing towards alleviation of suffering occasioned by food shortage, drought, famine and hunger. The donation will be used to purchase relief food to be distributed to residents of Narok North and Narok South districts.

Receiving the Commission's contribution, KRCS Head of Disaster Management, Mohamed Abdinoor, thanked KACC for the kind response adding that the food would reach the targeted populations. Abdinoor said the hunger situation had been complicated by other factors including the post election violence, floods, cholera and polio scare along the Kenya-Sudan border.
