Reporting corruption Kenya Anti-Corruption Commission gathers information on corruption occurring in Government and the public Sector from a variety of sources. These sources include members of the public, heads of government departments and agencies, officials working in both the public and private sectors and the media. Information can be provided to KACC in writing, by telephone or by presenting it personally to the Commission's Report Centre at Integrity Centre in Nairobi and Mombasa office at Apollo Court - Moi Avenue. The Commission's contact details are listed below. One can also pass on information anonymously to the Commission through the Anonymous Whistleblower's System on this Website.

What happens to the information I provide? All complaints and reports received by the Commission undergo a rigorous process of analysis. In considering how a report is handled and eventually disposed of, the Commission is guided by the Anti-Corruption and Economic Crimes Act (2003). The Commission may decide to investigate a report based on the whether the alleged offences falls and the Anti-Corruption Act and whether, in the Commission's estimation, it is worth being investigated. Reports which are found to fall under the Commission's jurisdiction are investigated by the Commission's Directorate of Investigations and Asset Tracing, or the Commission may decide to undertake education or preventive work. Reports which disclose offences which do not fall under the Commission's mandate, as stipulated under the Anti-Corruption Act, are referred to the appropriate Government Departments and Agencies for action. This is provided for in the Anti-Corruption Act. However, the Commission makes follow ups to ensure that action is taken on these reports. Following the competition of an investigation, KACC forwards the Investigation File, with appropriate recommendations, to the Attorney General, who conducts the prosecutions.
